Nimblehold – Mapmaker Master update
Heya folks!
We’ve been hard at work on our mapmaker, and it finally has a proper name! Gone is the old WIP title RPG Map Maker—say hello to Nimblehold!
Check out: www.nimblehold.com
Over the past few months, we’ve finalised the first version of the path tool, added assets, and started building our first maps with it. The terrain tool’s code is written, and work has begun on the animated water tool.

The one thing I haven’t been consistent with? Updates!
But I’m making that a priority. Development is just one part of building Nimblehold—I also need to create media to show it in action. I’ve been planning a strategy to get that moving finally, so I apologise for the delay.
Let’s start with Nimblehold itself. I’ve put together a video introducing the path tool, which you can check out in my first devlog. The goal of this tool is straightforward: to make path creation extremely easy, allowing the software to handle the heavy lifting for you. At the same time, it’s flexible enough to tweak every aspect if you want complete control—without forcing you to place each piece manually.

Next, we’ve started work on our Terrain tool, making it easy to pull up mountains on the fly. The goal is to make it possible to adjust mountains on the fly with simple tools, crack them open to create nice slopes, or build a road on the side to create a staircase.

Finally, we’ve also started work on the water tool. The final tool in our terrain package. This will allow you to build flowing rivers, drop waterfalls on the sides of cliffs and in the future build coastlines in all your maps.

As mentioned, my social media/update posting game needs some serious work. I’ve been figuring out how to combine all the hats of running this operation. What I decided to do is push myself to make a weekly map, that I can combine with some collabs with other creators (miniature designers in my first collab) that will allow me to write a short blurb (that with the help of a buddy of mine, we can write into little random encounters you can pull into your games, called Bonus Quests). It’s an experiment to see if I can maintain a weekly posting schedule; maybe it’s too high a bar, but I need to push myself to post more.
It’s similar to what I tried to start at the beginning of the year when we launched for the first time, but we had to stop working on it when we needed to regroup. You can read more about these Bonus Quests here
