Nimblehold v5.0 Mac – Windows – Linux (UPDATE)
Heya Folks!
The floor update for Nimblehold is here! It’s a first version of our tool, and obviously still requires a lot of work. It does feature a couple of key elements to its design. First of all, it allows users to have an edge path running along it; second, it can be raised into the air either as a floating platform or an elevated one. Providing a cast shadow and an edge line that make it look like it has height.
REGION MAPS
As you can see in the post image (and in a quip I made some time ago), we’ve also been testing new top-down region assets. These would add another layer to Nimblehold as well, providing the same types of tools to create a massive world for your players to navigate. If all goes well, I’d like to hand this project off to a pretty amazing artist, but given budget constraints, I need to be smart about where the money is going, of course. Still in the production phase, with the main focus on building Nimblehold and converting the base assets.
BUILDING TOOL
The number one tool we are focusing most of our attention on now is the building tool. With its key feature: internal lighting. This is one of those big hurdle efforts, and if we can pull it off, we are one step closer to building my dream map-building tool. All my artistic input available at the click of a button. What’s neat in our current tests, and in the way Nimblehold is set up, is that you can choose the height of your independent lights (and their colour) and light up a room from unique positions. Buildings function as a group of objects that you can move as a single object and edit inside. You can also add doors and windows at the moment, which allow cast light to come in from the outside.
This is also still in the very early stages of testing, which is why I’ve not showcased this feature in any of my social media posts just yet. Working hard on perfecting the system. How light interacts with the objects, just the way I have it interact with them in my Photoshop files.
STEAM
Next week, we plan to have a wishlist page live on Steam (I’ll have a separate post about this when it is live) that I would love everyone to share and wishlist. It improves visibility and helps us reach a larger audience throughout the journey of building Nimblehold. Patreon will always remain the place where you get early access, and at a discount while building as a presale. Steam keys will probably be handed out to let users access the tool and receive updates without having to do any of this manually.
Thank you all so much for the support. I’ve been wearing so many hats throughout this process; it’s a labour of love, and everyone involved has put their soul into bringing it to life. All of this has only been possible with your help.

I plan on using the DISCORD CHANNEL for any questions, as usual, I am still having lots of issues with the Patreon chat or you can hit me up at crossheadstudios@gmail.com
